  • Great Oaks is the Career and technical education department for 36 affiliated school districts and serves high school juniors and seniors from 38 high schools.
  • Great Oaks is the largest district of its type in the United States, covering more than 2,200 square miles and includes all or parts of twelve southwestern Ohio counties.
  • Great Oaks has achieved global recognition as a leader in vocational- technical education and was recognized as one of fifteen exemplary vocational institutions in America by the National Center for Research in Vocational Education.

Great Oaks facilities include:

  • Diamond Oaks Career Development Campus in western Hamilton County
  • Laurel Oaks Career Development Campus in Wilmington
  • Live Oaks Career Development Campus in Milford
  • Scarlet Oaks Career Development Campus in Sharonville
  • Enrollment in high school technical programs for the 1999-2000 school year is approximately 3,200. Approximately 50 career major options, which prepare students for entry level employment in hundreds of occupation fields, are available
  • Results of a survey in March 1999, show that 97% of the Class of '98 were employed, in the military and/or pursuing further education. Over 22% were enrolled in part or full-time post-secondary educational programs.
  • Vocational and technical programs offered to high school students and adults are based on local labor market demand and developed with input from advisory committees made up of individuals from business and industry.
